The second meeting of the State Diaspora Committee took place today in the Prime Minister’s Office. The mission of the Committee led by the Prime Minister and the main ministers is to lead the orientation of the new diaspora policies, to propose legal and institutional mechanisms to improve the situation of the Albanians living abroad, and to promote dialogue and coordination for the implementation of the strategy.
The second meeting of the Committee was attended by the Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama and other members of the government such as Minister of Culture, Ms. Mirela Kumbaro, Minister of Justice, Ms. Etilda Gjoni, Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Ms. Lindita Nikolla, and the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Genti Sejko.
Minister Majko gave a presentation on several topics such as the second diaspora summit program that will take place on 28th February – 2nd March; the state structure progress including the Bulletin of the National Diaspora Strategy; nominations of the Diaspora Coordination Council; and the budget of the National Diaspora Agency and the Diaspora Publishing Center.
