On the proposal of the State Minister for Diaspora, the Council of Ministers has approved Decision no. 504, dated, 24.6.2020 on “Establishment of the state database of students studying abroad and foreign citizens of Albanian origin who benefit scholarships from Albania”.
This decision envisages the creation of a state database for all Albanian students abroad as well as foreign citizens of Albanian origin who benefit from scholarships from the Republic of Albania.
This database will contain personal data on: Albanian citizens who are pursuing studies abroad; foreign citizens of Albanian origin who are beneficiaries of programs funded by the ministry responsible for education; Albanian citizens who have benefited from scholarships offered to Albania by states, international and non-profit organizations on the basis of signed agreements or other documents where the Government of the Republic of Albania is part.
The State Database of Albanian Students has as its administrative institution the National Diaspora Agency, while the Ministry of Education and the Ministry responsible for Foreign Affairs will be delivering the information.
