Members of the Diaspora Coordination Council held an online meeting with the Prime Minister of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, to discuss the right to vote for Albanian citizens living abroad. The meeting was also attended by the State Minister for Diaspora, Mr. Pandeli Majko; The Minister of Interior, Mr. Sander Lleshaj; co-chair of the Parliamentary Commission for Electoral Reform and member of the Political Council, Mr. Damian Gjiknuri; the Director of the National Agency for Information Society and Ms. Mirlinda Karcanaj. Since the establishment of the Council, its members have cooperated and are constantly committed to issues related to the representation of the interests of Albanians who have left their homeland and the strengthening of their relations with Albania. According to the agenda, the discussion was opened by the Prime Minister, who stressed the Government’s commitment to work to guarantee the vote for Albanian citizens living abroad.

The meeting continued with the discussion of the Chairman of KKD, Mr. Mark Gjonaj, and the State Minister for Diaspora, Mr. Pandeli Majko. Minister Majko said that the majority party has the full will to ensure the right to vote for all Albanian citizens living abroad, which is a constitutional right. Afterwards, the meeting continued with discussions of the members of KKD on the possibility of the contribution of this structure in the process of guaranteeing the vote.
