The Council of Ministers has decided in the next meeting to award 9 scholarships for foreign citizens of Albanian origin to study in the Republic of Albania, a proposal submitted by the Minister of State for the Diaspora.
According to the decision, the nine scholarships for foreign citizens of Albanian origin for the academic year 2020-2021 include financial coverage for tuition fees, as well as accommodation and food expenses for the academic year which will be borne by the budget of the National Agency for Diaspora.
In order to learn and deepen the knowledge of the language of origin, will benefit three scholarships foreign students of Albanian origin from Ukraine, two scholarships for foreign nationals of Albanian origin of the Arbëresh community in Italy, two scholarships for foreign nationals of Albanian origin in Croatia and two scholarships for foreign citizens of Albanian origin from Bulgaria.
Proposals for candidates for the scholarship will come from the diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Albania accredited in these countries, which are responsible for sending the documentation of required for scholarship recipient candidates.
Documentation to be submitted by the applicant must be legalized in accordance with the legislation governing the recognition and use of official documents issued abroad. The National Diaspora Agency will make payments to teachers needed to learn the Albanian language in the first year of study for foreign nationals of Albanian origin who receive scholarships from the Republic of Albania for the academic year 2020-2021.
The financing of scholarships under this decision for the academic year 2020-2021 has a value of 71,520 (seventy-one thousand five hundred and twenty) euros, which will be covered by the budget of the National Diaspora Agency.
