The 4th Diaspora Summit left behind several important tasks. One of them is the drafting of the National Diaspora Strategy 2026–2030, together with its respective Action Plan.
It is precisely within the framework of these multifaceted efforts, and in line with the suggestions and recommendations presented during and after the Summit — which are being reflected in the final draft of the Strategy — that last week we held a productive meeting with the Interinstitutional Working Group.
Such discussions gain real value when they are carried out, as we are doing, together with various interest groups and are oriented toward concrete objectives: promoting investments; preserving and developing the Albanian language, culture, and national identity; as well as strengthening structured cooperation between state institutions and Albanian communities abroad.
Only through this cooperation will we be able to create effective mechanisms for the engagement of Albanian professionals in the diaspora, as well as for the transfer of knowledge, expertise, and innovation in support of Albania’s development.
In the coming weeks, the document will be made public for broad consultation with citizens, diaspora organizations, experts, and all interest groups, with the aim of ensuring that the Strategy reflects as accurately as possible the needs and priorities of Albanians wherever they live.
Everyone’s contribution is welcome.
Because only together — in the homeland and in the Diaspora, and in cooperation with our international partners involved in this process — can we build a Strategy that defines, at a more ambitious level, the main directions of cooperation with the Albanian diaspora on the institutional, economic, and social levels, also in service of our major national objective: membership in the European Union.
