The Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania approved the Order on “Establishing a working group and appointing a person responsible for the protection of rights of Albanian citizens abroad deprived of their liberty, the rights of migrants through providing information on the options to appeal violation of their rights, in the host countries and international structures”.
The order is issued based on point 3, Article 102, of the Constitution, point 1, Article 12, Law no. 9000, dated 30.1.2003, “On the organization and functioning of the Council of Ministers”.
According to this order, the working group consists of the Deputy Minister of Justice, Ms. Fjoralba Cakaj, one representative from the Ministry of Justice, one representative from the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and one representative from the State Minister of Diaspora.
The working group aims to coordinate inter-institutional work for gathering information on the treatment of the Albanian citizens abroad deprived of their liberty according to the legislation.
The establishment of the working group is a result of measures 24 and 44 of the National Diaspora Strategy and Action Plan. The group will be reporting every three months at the meetings of the State Committee on Diaspora.
