In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the ”Embassy Exodus”, the National Diaspora Agency with the support of the Minister of State for the Diaspora and in cooperation with the German Embassy held an event to commemorate a day marked in the history of Albanian migration, entry to the embassy and the beginning of the exodus of Albanians, on July 2, 1990.

The event was opened with a greeting speech by the Minister of State for the Diaspora, Mr. Pandeli Majko. This date produced an act that rejected what it was and affirmed that change that was to come. The number of Albanian citizens with foreign citizenship is increasing in the host countries. They changed Albania and their influence is great”, said Minister Majko.

Given the importance of this date for the country and the history of Albanian migration, the meeting was also greeted by the German Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Peter Zingraf and the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erion Veliaj. At the end of the discussions, a sculptural work dedicated to this event was inaugurated, created by the artist Agim Rada.
