As CCD, we are following the situation created by COVID-19 and we are fully committed to the Albanian Community in the countries where we live so that this situation passes as easily and with as few consequences as possible.

As for the Albanian citizens who want to return to their homeland, we have communicated with the government which has confirmed its commitment to us. We are informed that so far all emergency cases have been repatriated.

We are following with concern the situation created for Albanian citizens at the border crossings with Greece. We have asked the Albanian state to take urgent measures and allow the entry into the Albanian territory of the compatriots trapped in the neutral zone of the border with Greece and to avoid a possible transmission of the virus, to ensure their isolation in a period of 14 days within the territory of Albania. For this, we have offered our assistance to the Albanian government so that this situation can be resolved as soon as possible.

In the current situation, we appeal to all our compatriots that before deciding to return to Albania, to be well informed at the diplomatic headquarters or the Emergency Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the information of which is given on the official website:

CCD calls for such situations to be well managed by the consulates and embassies of the Albanian state, informing them well and staying closer to our citizens.

As CCD we are totally committed to helping not only our compatriots, but also to contribute to the management of this difficult situation in the homeland. That is why we are in contact with the government on order to find the most efficient mechanisms for achieving this goal.

This unprecedented situation is a challenge for all countries, not only Albania, so we encourage everyone to support each other as much as possible in overcoming the situation as easily as possible.
